Day 1: Kigali Genocide Memorial Center Tour – Transfer to Bwindi in Uganda
Our driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel/lodge in Kigali early morning after your breakfast, brief you about the safari itinerary and take you on a tour of the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. Thousands of the Rwandans who perished during the 1994 Genocide were buried here. You will be able to watch and listen to some short video clips from some of the survivors of the incident. Later you will proceed with a drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to your booked accommodation to catch up with the late lunch and later spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day’s trekking. Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour.
After an early morning breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi, you will report to the park head quarters for pre-trek briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search for the shy mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed one hour with them while you watch them move about as you take photos. After the gorilla tracking experience you will return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha plains. Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
